There is something so comforting and loving about warm fresh chocolate chip cookies. When my son Tatum was born just over 4 years ago, I was on a mission to find the perfect chocolate chip recipe. Being a wife of a law enforcement officer, I found myself home with Tatum at night five days a week. I was lonely but most of all bored. What got me through those long nights home alone was wine and baking cookies.
I got my cookie recipe from my Dad’s fiancé Linda. Close your eyes for a moment and picture a beautiful, loving, caring women who would bake fresh cookies almost every time we came over. She’s thoughtful, and intentional about everything she does. I remember her telling me it was important to her because she wanted her cookies to be a memory for her children about their childhood. I wanted that too! I want my kids to remember my cookies and for them to be something I can pass on to them. When I got this recipe, it took me 13 times to master it! I honestly didn’t think cookies could be that hard! I finally have it down and make them for game day, neighbors, friends and family. Everyone loves these cookies and now you can too!
